On October 2, 2018 I lost my mum, my best friend to suicide. I love and miss you so much, Mum ❤️👊🏼 (knuckles). I feel like you've given me the strength to do this.

Depression / bipolar disorder is such an ugly, dark disease that I wish she didn’t have to experience - that I wish no one had to experience. My mum managed to live with this awful illness for many years and damn did she put up one hell of a fight. She's the strongest person I know.

Your story, your life doesn't have to end the same way my Mum's did. To anyone suffering with mental illness or thoughts of suicide, please know that you are not alone. You are very loved and you are needed. You matter. Your life matters.

You are not a burden. I promise, you are not a burden.

There is help and people who want to help you. Please reach out and check in on each other. Together we can make a difference and save lives. This walk/run/ride is proof of the help, support and love that is out there.

I truly appreciate your participation and donations for this event. It means so much to me and it will mean the world to someone receiving the support and treatment they need in order to heal, to recover and to live their life to the fullest.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Be kind, be gentle and take care of yourself.

Love Lauren.

We're not the same without you, Mum.

I love this picture of Nanna, Mum and me. I miss them both so much.

We're doing this walk for my Mum, for Janice and for anyone else affected by mental illness, addiction, self-injury or suicide. Please remember that you are not alone, you matter and you are loved.
