Please help me support CMHA York and South Simcoe by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends.
I will be riding 100km with the Newmarket eGALS on June 14th in support of youth mental health services in the GTA. Mental Illness effects us all. It has impacted me profoundly. My brothers George and Dave were both diagnosed with Schizophrenia in their youth. My brother Dave, who was missing for 30 years, actually died tragically in 1984, and my eldest brother George chose to end his life in 2017. One of my best high school friend's, Suzy Tavares, ended her life at 18 in 1989. My friend and former colleague, Jon Box, took his life this past September.
We need to do more than talk. I am taking action to not only help break the stigma, but also support programs like MOBYSS, Ontario’s first and only mobile health clinic for youth 12-25. Your donation will help keep the MOBYSS bus on the road 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year serving youth in our community who believe they have no where else to turn.
I am hoping to raise at least $1,000 to support a program that provides direct support to youth with mental illness. I need your help. Join the ride or support my efforts by making a donation. All amounts are welcomed and appreciated. Young lives are counting on you and me.
Thanking you in advance. Mental Health matters. xo
