PRIOR TO THE EVENT
Signage on Saturday 9:00am (3-4 hours)
Setting up signage along the route the day before the event. Best if done with you and a friend! You'll drive the routes, stopping every so often to stick a sign along the side of the road according to the map. You or your friend will need a vehicle for this position.
Advance Prep – The week before the event
With large events such as this, there are often last minute things to prepare, like sorting shirts for example. Can we call on you to help?
DAY OF EVENT
Set Up 5:30am–8:30am
Setting up tables, chairs, and on-site signs, carrying boxes/materials to different areas, loading water and supplies into the water station vehicles. Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
Tear Down 1:30pm - 3:30pm
Packing up areas that have shut down (participant registration for example). Packing supplies and loading in vehicles. Taking down and packing up tables, chairs, signs, etc. and garbage removal after the event ends. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Pick Up/Delivery early morning of the event
Picking up items and delivering to the event site at Upper Canada Mall the morning of Mental Health in Motion. Own vehicle is required.
The first face folks see in the morning - greeting riders, volunteers and family/friends when they arrive onsite; answer questions and provide info.
Cheerleader 7:00am - 10:30am or 10:30am - 2:00pm Keep the atmosphere high and the smiles big! Aid riders (at the event site) to get into line and cheer them on as they cross the start line and when they return at the end of the ride.
On-Site Traffic Safety 6:00am - 10:00am or 10:00am –2:00pm
Ensure the safety of riders, runners, and walkers as they leave and return to the site. Ensure that vehicle traffic inside the parking lot is diverted around the start/finish entrance.
Water Station 7:45am–1:30pm *Times vary per station location*
Have fun, cheer folks on, and keep them hydrated and energized! All water station volunteers will pick-up supplies at the event site (Upper Canada Mall) before heading to the water station location. A vehicle is required by one of the two volunteers for each of the water stations. The vehicle will need to be a van/SUV in order to take a table, chairs and water to and from the site. Please note on the application if you will be the vehicle owner/driver. You agree to use your cellphone for communication with the main site on event day.
Mobile Support 7:00am - 1:30 *Times vary per route*
Ride your own bicycle (or walk/run if you're volunteering for the 5KM walk/run) and help those who break down or need medical assistance by contacting the main site support teams. You must be comfortably able to ride the distance you apply for and have and agree to use your cellphone for communication with the main site on event day.
Times that volunteers will begin to support the ride are below (approximate):
100KM – 7:00am start
60KM – 8:00am start
20KM & 5KM – 9:30am start
5KM Run & Walk – 10:00am start

Lunch will be served from 11:00am – 2:00pm
Live Entertainment, Celebration & Ceremony: 11:00am and 1:30pm
