VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

1.Site Volunteers
Site volunteers are so important to the success of events like Mental Health in Motion! They will be helping set up and tear down tables and chairs, posting signage around the REC and parking lot, helping direct people where to register and ensuring the place stays tidy.
Volunteers needed from:
6 Volunteers: 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. - Set Up Crew
3 Volunteers: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. - General Help
3 Volunteers: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. - General Help
6 Volunteers: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. - Clean-up crew
This is a great role for teens who need to get their volunteer hours. You are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts in this role if you would like!
 
2.Registration
Registration volunteers will be greeting participants, handing out belt bags, wristbands and race packages. Volunteers needed from 7:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

3.Children's Activities
Volunteers in the children’s are will be setting up crafts, assisting children to complete crafts/games and assisting with clean up.
Volunteers needed from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

4.Food Services - Lunch
Volunteers will be assisting with stocking the food tables and distributing items to participants. They will also be helping to ensure the area stays tidy and clean up after lunch.
Volunteers needed from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

5.Silent Auction
At the Silent Auction, volunteers will be helping people place bids, watching over items and helping CMHA staff distribute items at the close of the auction.
Volunteers needed from 8:00 a.m.  – 1:30 p.m.

6.Water Stations
Volunteers at the water stations will be coming to the Ray Twinney REC to collect their tables and water. They will then drive to their station on the route (20km and 60 km). When their race is finished they will need to return the items picked up in the morning to the Ray Twinney REC. Volunteers will need access to a vehicle and the ability to lift large jugs of water. We recommend bringing a folding lawn chair as well. 
Volunteers needed from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (or until sweep driver/rider passes by)
2 Volunteers - 25 Km route
2 Volunteers - 60 km route
 
7.Selfie Station
Looking for enthusiastic, high energy individuals for the selfie station. They will be encouraging participants to take photos and post them on their social media sites.
Volunteers needed from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

8.Photographers and videographers
Call out for photographers and videographers! Take pictures and video throughout the day, at the Ray Twinney REC and out along all of the routes.
Volunteers needed from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

9.Signage
Put up directional signage along the 5km, 20km and 60km routes on Saturday.
Pick up all signage at the conclusion of the event.
5 km – 2 volunteers set up; 2 volunteers take down
20 km – 2 volunteers set up; 2 volunteers take down
60 km – 2 volunteers set up; 2 volunteers take down
 
All volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt and food will be provided.
Coffee and muffins will be available in the Volunteer Lounge in the morning.
A BBQ Lunch (provided by Big Bone) will be served with ice cream and beverages.
